Moonshine Recording Session
"Live at the Highline Studios" Part One

For the current CD “Moonshine Recording Session - Live at the Highline Studios - Part One”, everything was recorded live, without overdubs, just like in the golden days of rock ‘n’ roll. They played until every beat was perfect. Untamed. Direct. Real.

Christian Krüger from Moonshine Recording Studios provided the authentic vintage sound, bringing original equipment from the 1950s to Highline Studio. At the controls: Frenzy Erl, who masterfully combines classic sound engineering with modern technology. The result: ELECTRIFYING

"One Step Back"

In the mid-2000s, Dee Dee and the Bel Airs were eager to build on the success of “Radio Days” and released another concept album in the form of a musical journey through time, entitled “One Step Back”. The plot: the band is sucked into a time tunnel in a mad scientist's laboratory and ends up stranded in the late 1940s. With no chance of returning, they do what they do best and spend the following decades making a living by playing the hits of the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.

"Night out in Bel Air"

The start of the new millennium brought the next quantum leap. Inspired by the emerging neo-swing movement, Dee Dee and the Bel Airs reinvented their style. The album “Night Out in Bel Air” literally exploded onto the scene. Songs like Scat the Swing, California Moon, and a rousing version of Elvis' Viva Las Vegas catapulted the band into the international MP3 charts and download lists, often reaching the very top!

"Radio Days"

In the mid-1990s, a breath of fresh air arrived: the vocal group Harmony Five joined the band and refined the sound with crystal-clear polyphonic harmonies. Doo wop and jive made their entrance—and the idea for an extraordinary concept album was born: “Radio Days” was a declaration of love for good old radio. The band revived a typical radio show. With a live presenter, advertising jingles, and plenty of nostalgia. The audience loved it, thanks in part to the fact that this concept was also implemented and presented one-to-one with the jingles and a presenter during promotional appearances. Best listened to from start to finish.

"Rockabilly Boogie Tonight"

The debut album, featuring uncompromising neo-rockabilly, hit like a bolt of lightning and quickly took the band to festivals across Europe and England. Dee Dee and the Bel Airs stood side by side with true rock ‘n’ roll legends and often accompanied them musically: Bill Haley's original Comets, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent's Blue Caps, Tommy Sands, Frankie Ford, Buddy Knox, Janis Martin, Wanda Jackson, Brenda Lee - to name but a few. Even back then, they were already composing their own songs and had polyphonic harmony vocals on board. Also available on vinyl LP.
